Well, I've put off making this for some time, but, here we go. As some of you may know, Tres and I have been working on a game. And we're pretty close to our demo. It's been in works for a month or so. Pretty soon, we'll have a demo out for you to play, as we are about two acts away from demo release. To play you'll need a genesis emulator such as Fusion or Gens. Here are some screenshots to whet your appetite. Download or open them, your choice. sendspace.com mowii1
Towards the end of our little project, Daz will polish up the levels some and change the palettes.

And, now, we'll be moving on to complete the game.

There's a bug, which I've noticed more in Marble Zone, landing on a spike after damage, will immediately damage you. We'll try to fix this. I've disabled the stage select, but the data I've left you with is a sneak peek of Final Zone.

Alright, so, this being the first coded release, and this is after the crash and whatnot.
So, included is a removed speed cap, and the spikes are fixed so landing on them two times back-to-back wont instantly kill you.

Updates!





Now, added is a new death animation, the Sonic CD styled spindash (I plan to change the tiles to the regular style later, like in Sonic 2), and Sonic's palette changed to Sonic 2's. Also added is removed speed cap, spike bug fix, and the walk jump fix.

Personally, I like Sonic's new palette, as it looks brighter and more lush. The death animation is known as the "shrinking" animation, and the sprites are unused leftovers. Also worth is the big change in GHzA1, I've edited it to where graphics fit much better, and the flow is also much better.

A new Sega screen has been added, but has been cut for now be cause of assembling and Checksum problems.
A few new code updates, and GHZ layouts have been edited to fit better. Mostly Act 1, and small parts of Acts 2 and 3.
A bug to fix with the Spindash that I've noticed, Spindashing next to a monitor does not work, and spindashing next to spikes that move horizontally, when they go down, a running animation will appear, but when you release down, it does a Spindash.
Currently, I'm working with the code to add the Super Peel Out.
Here's what the new Sega screen looks like.


It has a palette cycle too. I'm still working with animations for the Spindash, it should be finished soon. Anyway, here's the game. The new Sega screen is cut in this one, I couldn't find the one with it before I cut it, or I'd have provided both. Here you go. sendspace.com armrxj

Just looking around, here are some early concepts you might want to take a look at. These are just earlier versions of what is being currently worked on. You can see how far it's come from these, and you can see some key parts of the levels still in it. Ignore the .GS0 file in there, it's just a savestate to one of the concepts. Alrighty, update time. First Sonic's and GHz's palettes have been returned to normal, for the time being.


GHz Act 1, has been edited extensively. More paths, more loops, etc.

Note:This release has no code, for the reason that I'm working with the peelout right now, and still testing, so this'll play like regular Sonic 1.

Ok, it's been a while since I've updated, so, here's what's new.
I got a working Robotnik Monitor, jump on it, you'll get damaged.



As you can see, jumping on it will damage you, so watch out! ;)

You can play it here, but Act 2 of Green Hill Zone is still a work in progress, but you can play the level just fine. This has all the code, and Act 1 of Green Hill Zone is the only one with Robotnik Monitors. I made the art for the monitor myself, too. :P
